DO I NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY?
If you have an injury, pain, disability or decreased function in most instances Physical Therapy can assist you in having less pain and a higher level of independent function.
Additionally, many individuals are surprised to learn how physical therapy significantly improves the quality of their life. They thought physical therapy only applied to people recovering from accidents and injuries. Physical therapy can significantly transform your physical well being by improving your ease and quality of movement. Physical therapy removes the barriers of restricted movement and helps maximize the results you achieve through other exercise programs such as Yoga, Pilates or even jogging.
WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MANUAL THERAPY?
Integrative Manual Therapy is a generic term to describe an individualized approach that assesses and treats pain and dysfunction. It utilizes hands-on physical therapy, movement and specific exercise combined with education to help clients maintain and improve their functional well-being. It is integrative in that it combines and integrates several potent forms of manual therapy with the goal of creating improved physiologic and bio-mechanical integration.
The improved functional results achieved in each session, combined with an improved understanding of balanced movements and posture, actively enhances each individual’s innate healing abilities.
It features 5 major components.
Each client receives a caring and organized evaluation of their unique situation to understand their challenges and what they wish to achieve.
Based on each individual’s needs, hands-on techniques are used to treat and release soft tissues (including fascial, muscular, and visceral structures); mobilize the spine and joints; enabling a spontaneous increase in range and ease of movement.
MOVEMENT & EXERCISE
Each client is actively engaged using specific movements or exercises designed to alleviate and address their particular concerns.
Treatment focuses on equipping clients with the skills and knowledge they need to maintain and advance their own improvements.
With successive sessions, the client will experience reduced pain and a significant improvement in movement and functionality many did not imagine they could achieve.
